Lawrence, Indiana is a city found in Marion County. As of 2010, approximately 46,000 people called the community home, and the city is located in almost the exact center of the state. Originally serving as a wilderness stop on a Native American trail in 1823, the city has played important roles in U.S. history, and it is still home to Fort Benjamin Harrison. Today, Lawrence boasts a friendly atmosphere, affordable housing, and award-winning schools all situated near major cultural attractions in Indianapolis.

While Lawrence is primarily a bedroom community, there are a few points of interest within the city itself. Visitors may like to visit the Fort Benjamin Harrison Historic District to learn more about the region’s role American history. Fort Harrison State Park is located here, and it offers a variety of outdoor recreational activities, including hiking trails. There are also many unique restaurant found here like Bando Restaurant, Art’s Skillet, and Maru Studio.

Lawrence residents enjoy vastly different seasons throughout the year, allowing for ample outdoor activities. Summertime high temperatures average at about 85 degrees during July, but humidity levels often leave the air feeling muggy. Some days even experience high temperatures above 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and residents retreat indoors in order to cool off. The right central air conditioning system will keep Lawrence locals safe and comfortable, offering consistent and reliable cooling throughout an entire space.

Fortunately, with the changing of the season also comes cooler temperatures. Many Lawrence residents find autumn to be their favorite season, as it offers drier and more predictable weather patterns than the spring. However, the winter can be cold and snowy, with an average of 26 inches of total accumulation here each year. It is recommended that residents contact an experienced Lawrence HVAC technician before the coldest weather strikes to ensure that any existing gas or electric furnace is working properly.
